We took on the project of completely remodeling our original 1970s kitchen! We knocked down a wall, did mold removal, tackled kitchen leaks, brought the kitchen down to studs, and rebuilt it from scratch. Here we are answering questions about our journey with our kitchen renovation.

    Oh ... no 😮, you may want to put some of those weight-bearing boards back up. Looks nice, but that's going to cause some problems. Honestly, it would still look cool with the necessary boards back.

    After moving into a new house, the builder had to replace the brand new carpet which had bleach stains from their janitorial crew. When they were removing carpet, I saw this pile of clay dust left behind on the floor. Installers explained why this is sometimes done. Wish I could recall what. Sorry. I cleaned it up myself by sweeping it into a dust pan. This was a concrete slab floor. Several dustpans full of loose dirt!

    I hope they had an architectural engineer in there to make sure that none of that wall was loadbearing. I guess they’ll find out if they didn’t when the roof caves in.😬

      @@theyorks I was a Realtor for 20 years and you would not believe the number of people who did renovations like this without consulting with a structural engineer. The repair costs was sometimes too expensive so they would list their home to get out of doing the structural repair.

    That header above the nolonger existing door is called a double header and carries the load down those beefed up 2x6s that run down the doorframe you need a pillar or you roofs going to sag down and your ceilings going to Crack first hopefully doesn't sag beyond repair

    • @kylejmarsh3988
      @kylejmarsh3988 3 дня назад

      Not quite - Look at the ceiling, where there is no drywall - you can see the joists run in the same direction as the wall. To me that would indicate that this is a partition wall not a load bearing wall. Also the house didn't seem to collapse in the video so that's another sign ;)

I usually use nails but am buying all these strips to hang my pics there 2 not ruin anything new-I had NO clue of the damage & extra work they cause.🤬 I also actually like the gallery idea, so the tape on the floor & then transport to wall again= genius! + 🎨 frames all 1color at once -( loved the bear & glasses) so, yeah- FRICKEN FAB VIDEO/TY!!
